How you all are doing? The rainy season has all started so soon this time. In Bangalore here, it is pouring everyday like a grand shower. During monsoon specific skin care is very important. Our skin produces more sebum in the humid weather. CTM routine is a must and should routine which should be followed by everyone.
Anyways, lets get to today’s topic “CTM routine”. So what is CTM routine? It is the cleansing, toning, moisturizing routine. No matter what skin type you have you should follow this routine if you want to have perfect looking skin.
CTM routine is the basic step of skin care, It is divided in three steps. which you should include in your everyday life. OK.. Lets get into details.
This first and foremost step is “cleansing” , i.e cleaning the face. You should cleanse your face atleast twice a day. I don’t recommend using soaps on facial skin, Use a good quality face wash which suits your skin type. If you are someone who puts on make-up, I suggest you to use makeup remover(can be oil) or cleansing milk to make sure that the products you have used come off well and thus, you prevent clogging of pores and acne. This is double cleansing. If you do not use makeup, just a face wash is enough.
I recommend Himalaya neem face wash, ponds white beauty face wash, patanjali rose face wash, biotique honey face wash in budget friendly options. In high end, Cetaphil cleanser,The Body shop vitamin E cleanser, The Body shop aloe calming facial cleanser, Clarins face wash.
“Toning” Is the next step after cleansing. The main purpose of toner is to hydrate the skin it also maintains the natural pH levels of skin. Toners are designed to tighten the pores and give even skin tone. Use of toners prevent breakouts and blackheads to a great extent.
But always make sure to use toners that are alcohol free. Alcohols strip natural oils of skin and makes skin dry and dull. You can also use face mist that are available in the market now. Here is how I make my own facial mist in a DIY here(Jasmine face mist)
I also recommend using, Pure rose water, pure mogra water from kama ayurveda, my diy mists, home made green tea, Biotique Honey toner, Plum green tea toner.
Here we come to the last step of skin care routine. The “moisturizing”. Moisturizing will prevent the moisture loss from your skin by creating a layer between the skin and the outside atmosphere so that the skin doesn’t feel dry and looks dull.
Don’t miss this step thinking you have oily skin, Your skin will produce more oil if you skip moisturizer. Just use moisturizer according to your skin type. I recommend oil-free moisturizers for everyone. Only if you have extreme dry skin, then I suggest heavy duty creams else they will lead to break outs and clogged pores.
Always use moisturizer while the skin is still damp. This will prevent moisture loss and makes skin soft, smooth and supple.
I recommend using Cetaphil lotion, lakme peach milk moisturizer, clean and clear skin balancing lotion, nivea cream. The Body shop Vitamin E range, Innisfree green tea balancing lotion.
So, This is the CTM routine you should follow for blemish free, acne free skin care. Stick to your routine! Your skin needs to get used to the products you’re using only after that it will show the result. If you do not see any improvement even after a month of doing this, You should change the products you are using and try others available in the market.
