Dry-dull-frizzy hair is a big no-no for everyone. We all have struggled (still struggling) bad hair times at least at one point in our life. Today I am here to share tips for healthy & beautiful hair.
When I was a teenager I struggled with my dry hair a lot. Blame.. Hostel water+bad choice of shampoos 🙁 After years of experience and use of right products my hair feels better now. So I wanted to share a few 10 steps I am trying to follow in my hair care routine now a days. Let us explore how to achieve Beautiful Hair…
1. Strengthen your hair roots
Eat healthy balanced diet which is rich in nutrients. A diet rich in Vitamin A, B, zinc and collagen. Also make sure to have enough protein in your daily diet. Each and every hair follicle feeds on this nutritious blood and if it is lacking in nutrients needed to promote healthy hair, then it weakens and causes hair loss. Drink enough water, this will keep your tresses hydrated. Regular strengthening hair masks is also very beneficial. Consult your physician if you are loosing a lot of hair.
2.Cleanliness is very important
You have to wash your hair well at least thrice a week, depending upon your hair type use a good cleanser or shampoo. Oily/ dry, both hair needs a better hygiene. One of the main reason for hair fall is dandruff. So make sure you keep those problems at bay. Try to use paraben free, sulphate free shampoo which is made for your hair type and don’t miss you conditioner.
3. Avoid hot water
It is generally not recommended to use hot water shower. It makes your hair dry and brittle as it strips natural protective oils from your hair. Always, prefer a temperature which is just a bit warmer than your body temperature. If you can not leave indulging in hot water at least use cold water as a final rinse.
4. Handle and comb your hair with lot of care
If you are someone who loves tight pony tails or braids, you have to be careful, because this pulls hair from its follicle and eventually weakens it, resulting in hair loss. So it is better to keep your hair styling a little loose. That said, always comb your hair with good quality comb. Preferably a wooden comb or wide brush. Nylon or plastic comb leads to breakage of hair while wooden comb reduces the frizziness of hair. If your hair tangles a lot, invest in a good quality detangling brush. Make sure you do not comb wet hair. You can try Vega’s range of combs.
5. Avoid heat tools.
While I say this, I admit that I always use a blow dryer every time I wash my hair. Limit the use of curling rods and hair straighteners. Heat tools also easily cause frayed hair, split ends as well as frizz. If you’re hair is already damaged by heat tools, then use olive oil hair masks that help lubricate and repair hair damage. also chop off the split ends regularly. Use a heat protectant before you heat style your hair and also finish with a good quality serum.
6. Get rid of product build-up
We often use too many products for hair which contain chemicals or even the use of hard water leads to product build-up in hair. If you notice your is always dry and no products are showing good results, it means there is product build-up in your hair. Get rid of it by using DIY methods such as by using baking soda or ACV.
7. Use nourishing hair masks
Show your hair follicles some love by feeding them with nourishing hair masks at least once in a week. Use can use store bought masks or the ones which is made of kitchen ingredients. You can use simple oil treatment or make DIY masks using eggs, banana, avacado and much more. These are so wonderful which help to strengthen your hair follicles and promote luscious long hair.
8.Get a chlorine shower filter
The quality of your shower water can also affect your hair follicles! Chlorine and hard water not only contribute to product build-up but also lead to hair shedding. Check this out too !
9. Oil massage for scalp and hair
Most of the Indian kids are used to this method since childhood. But as we grow up we tend to get busy and might not be able to give lot of time for this oil massages. Make it very essential in your hair care routine. Take you favorite oil and massage you scalp well at least once a week. This not only moisturizes but also promotes hair growth
10 Balance your hormones
More and more women suffer from weak hair follicles and extreme hair loss because of hormonal imbalance. Too much stress and too little sleep also adds to this problem! Make sure to spend more time relaxing in nature and consult your doctor and keep your hormones in check.
